UK Mondo Radio to host 24-hour charity DJ broadcast

9 May 2016

Sheffield online radio station UK Mondo will be streaming a live, 24-hour DJ broadcast from 6pm on Tuesday, 10th May, in aid of Friends of the Himalayan Children's Care Home and the free Sheffield festival, Peace In The Park.

Inspired by DJ EZ's recent marathon slog in aid of Cancer Research UK, a medley of Sheffield DJs will be joining forces for a solid, non-stop 24 hours of record-spinning from the UK Mondo studio. Mark Akid, James Drain, Lucas Edwards, Rob Abbott and Will Russ will be manning the decks between them for the full shift, with a selection of special guests - including DJs from The Tuesday Club, Pretty Pretty Good and Dusktildawn - popping in throughout the broadcast to contribute guest mixes (and, presumably, energy drink re-ups).

Friends of the Himalayan Children's Care Home (FOHCHH) is a small UK charity that supports a children's home in the foothills of Nepal, who fundraise through events and regular donations to pay for 58 children's school fees, clothes, food and healthcare. Peace In The Park has been a long-running favourite fixture in the Sheffield calendar, and after some troubles with funding in recent years is returning to Sheffield's Ponderosa Park in 2016 for another show of unity, equality and community spirit.

To show your support for the mammoth broadcast, head over to the event's Crowdfunder page.

Tune into UK Mondo here.
