DJ Haus' Top 5 Clone classics
Obscure have been putting on parties in Manchester and London for five years now, with their taste for no-nonsense, bass-heavy house, grime and garage reflected in the roll call of previous guests, as the likes of DJ EZ, L-Vis 1990, French Fries, Slimzee, Brackles, Jam City and more have all manned the Obscure decks over the years. For their fifth anniversary, they've stayed true to form by inviting Unknown To The Unknown boss DJ Haus and Clone Records kingpin Serge to pass the headphones between themselves all-night-long, for what promises to be a truly raucuous birthday back-to-back in Soup Kitchen's intimate basement.
Before he enters into the booth with the Dutch figurehead on December 16th, we asked DJ Haus to select some of his utmost favourite tracks released through Serge's Clone stable - specifically, five cuts from its Jack For Daze offshoot, an imprint that shares a love of pumping, acidic Chicago beats with Haus' own UTTU.
He explains his selections:
"I just compiled five of the straight up Clone Jack For Daze classics - I mean those timeless ghetto house masterpieces! If you ever see me play you are guaranteed to hear at least one or two of these tracks!"
Serge & Tyrell - Pump-O-Matic (Original Mix)
Geeeman - Bang't
Roman Flügel – Even More
Alden Tyrell - Some House
Marquis Hawkes - Outta This Hood
Tickets for Obscure's 5th Birthday with DJ Haus b2b Serge Clone all-night-long at Soup Kitchen on December 16th are available through PFTP now.
